What is Hardware?

Hardware is everything you can touch: your mouse, your monitor, your keyboard and all the bits inside your computer. Hardware can be damaged through a variety of ways, like dropping it, getting it wet or allowing it to overheat. Although it may look bad, a lot of hardware-related PC repairs can be done – even laptop screen repairs are offered. With over twenty years of experience, we’re run across pretty much any hardware damage scenario – and figured out a fix for it, too!

What is Software?

Software is the stuff you can’t touch. Software is the term for all of the programs that run on your computer, from Solitaire to the operating system. Depending on the problem, a software fix can be a lot easier than a hardware fix – or a lot more difficult. The nice part is, if we are doing a software-related computer repair, we can actually help without even disturbing you in your home or office. Thanks to our online computer repair tools, we can do repairs remotely. Of course, if you prefer we show you in person, we are just as happy to come to you.

What we do

Most of the work we do is Microsoft computer repairs, but we know our way around the all of the other systems too. We are happy to look at all brands of both smartphones and tablets as well. We unfortunately can’t offer our online service for smartphone and tablet repair, but don’t worry – we always have a friendly tech to send out to look at your device at your convenience.

We know many of you are working from home and self-quarantining. A houseful of people puts added stress on your network and can increase the likelihood of serious computer and networking problems.

LIT Computers is ready to help with service anytime you need us. We’re still operating under our normal hours of operation: Monday to Friday 9-9, Saturdays 9-5. We’re carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation and strictly following government health and safety guidelines to minimize the spread of the virus and protect our customers and employees.

Our Technicians are Essential Service Providers

All LIT Computers Technicians who visit your home or business will adhere to our high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene before, during, and after every service visit. 

In order to ensure maximum effectiveness, we’ve instructed our service technicians to uphold and enhance our already strict cleaning and disinfecting measures to ensure the safest possible work environment. Additionally, we’re following CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines designed to stop the spread of the virus, including: 

  • Wearing personal protective equipment
  • Eliminating physical contact, including handshakes. We’ll use only non-contact methods of greeting 
  • Maintaining effective social distancing when possible 
  • Washing hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds at every opportunity 
  • Using hand sanitizer
  • Using disinfectant products to ensure touchpoints are clean in workspaces, vehicles, and on equipment 
  • Sanitizing shared-use devices such as tablets and clipboards; customers should consider using their own pens to sign paperwork 

Customer Service

Our technicians are ready to assist you with scheduling service calls, answering questions and meeting all your needs. We have implemented the following additional precautions to ensure a safe experience and excellent service. 

  • Our service technicians will ask if anyone in the structure is symptomatic of illness.
  • We’ll honor special requests from customers seeking to maintain a safe distance from our service technicians.
  • LIT Computers personnel are always aware of the risks and symptoms of illness. Any employee feeling potential signs of the virus will stay home and seek a professional medical evaluation.
